“Friends are harder to keep than they are to find.”

- from After the Shoot out in Scranton by Justin Starnes

Over the last decade Justin Starnes has been a regular performer of his original music at festivals, restaurants, wineries, distilleries and community events in Virginia, Pennsylvania, Maryland and West Virginia, such as:

- the Heritage Harvest Festival at Thomas Jefferson's Monticello in Charlottesville, VA;

-the Appalachian Trail 75th Anniversary Festival in Bolivar, WVA;

- the Michaux Brewing Company in Gettysburg, PA;

- the West Oaks Farm Market & Cafe in Winchester, VA; and,

-the American Legion Annual Ox Roast in St. Thomas, PA

Justin grew up in the rolling hills of Carroll County, Maryland where at a young age he was captivated by the expansive lyrics and insidiously simple melodies of singer-songwriters such as John Prine or Townes Van Zandt.

After witnessing an intimate performance by folk legend Ramblin' Jack Elliot at a local Farm Museum, Justin  was inspired to develop a unique, self-taught style of fingerpicking an acoustic guitar and banjo.
